Last time, this happened to me... someone pulled out of a side road, saw me at the last moment. He almost but not quite managed to stop in time.

Just door damage.

It was 1976.  And it was my Triumph TR5.  I claimed against his insurer, and indicated that I was open to a deal. They paid me X amount of money.

I bought a TR6 door (same ) from a local scrapyard for £10. Had it resprayed in the correct colour. Fitted it myself.

Job done. And nice little windfall for me. ,

Hope all goes well anyway.

Similar to what happed to me in the Roaring 80's with my Capri2.8i. I was not convinced I had a new driver's door, so asked the Ford Main Dealer repairs dept. to produce the proof of parts paperwork. There was a tiny L shaped chip out the original door's black window surround inside. I knew it was there, they missed it.

I then contacted the insurance company and informed them.

Suffice to say, the car was put elsewhere for a whole  new job, and I left the dealer to explain themselves to Zurich. Never went back for servicing either.
