Sorry if I ask a silly question, but I can't for the life of me see how the number plate plinth comes apart from the honeycomb - style grille on my 2007 NC Sport.

I need to remove the plinth to get rid of an annoying scrape on it - done before I got the car - but can't seem to detach it from the grille. I can see 3 large plastic 'bungs' on the back face which seem to connect the 2 parts, but am reluctant to use brute force and sheer ignorance to separate them. Number plate itself came off easily - 2 screws - but can see no other fixings on the outer face.

Looked at 'Mellens' but it's not clear how they fix.  Have I got to remove the grille as well?

Can anyone enlighten me, please?

Thanks in advance

Never done it but I thought it was a bumper removal to get at them?

I am sure my NC1 plinth was like this, the two caps come off to reveal the mounting screws, there may be more than one type though.

Sorry, I lied, this was my actual one which is probably the same as yours and therefor a bumper off job.

Found a picture showing the back

Yep, that one above looks like mine...so I guess it IS a bumper-off job.
I can't see any way of splitting those plastic studs away from the grille without access to the back face.
At least not if I want to put them back intact.
Buggah!

I guess it'll have to stay attached for the moment, and I'll try to fix the scrape with it still in place.

Thanks.
