I have been working on a route using Google Maps tonight, have you ever been photographed by their little camera cars so you now appear on their street view,  or seen a MX5 captured in street view?

Or photographed by Google parked up where you should not have been?!

.  My wife is painting the front door on the current view of our house. She didn't do a bad job so I might instruct here to do it again next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Fortunately for me she doesn't look on here so I think my genitalia may be safe, if I end up with a squeaky voice you will know I was mistaken.

Hmm, I missed being in the picture on the ski slopes above Meribel a few years ago. I was sweeper for our group of eight, picking up a faller, and only the leader and the front two were recognisable in the shot.

You made me look. The ghost of my scrapped old Roadster is still there as they haven't updated our streetview for several years.  Curious that their system failed to detect and blur the number plate.

They didn't drive the camera car down our road, probably because it says "Private" at the junction with the main road. The next cul-de-sac along, only a hundred yards or so away from ours (also privately owned) doesn't have a sign and the camera car drove right to the far end.

It might not have anything to do with it but not long after it appeared on Google Earth, a house at the end of that road, in the equivalent position to ours, was broken into and the lady and her toddler who lived there were held at knifepoint and robbed. The robbers followed the lady in through her electronically controlled gates in their getaway car!

Best thing I have seen is an airliner flying towards the south coast I spotted it whilst looking for a hotel for the Goodwood rally.

The Stig was standing at the side of Loch Ness but it has been updated now. Near the memorial to John Cobb who lost his life attempting to break the speed record.

One of my sons works in Clontarf, just north of Brisbane in Queensland. Two years ago he was captured walking across the yard of Wahoo Air Con smoking and smiling at the camera. His face was not blurred at all. It has been updated since then.

Not me or an MX5, but my late father in law walking his dog.

He's been gone 5 years or more, so now importalised in street view.

https://www.google.com/maps/@53.5884484,-1.328564,3a,75y,320.56h,81.31t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sGopRHH8cfYAgmp5OUPmd6g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Incidentally, I had google remove my property from street view.

Not becuase I've anything to hide, but purely down to the fact that they didn't seek my permission, and to make things difficult for them.

Put Travelodge Arundel in Google maps you should be able to see it just to the left and above the hotel, Jumbo Jet by the looks of it so must be a satellite shot.

Use the 3D function and you can get close enough to sit on the tail (chromatically distorted picture - rgb sequential camera), swing the view around and you can read Virgin Atlantic on the hull.

There is another image (I forget exactly where now) in some European mountains where I was looking at walking routes for a reality check compared with the tourist info, and a plane was in the way there as well.

on aerial view, rather than street view, i can guage the pic taken to within an hour on april 16th 2006 - from one angle outside my old flat i can see my motorbike and my girlfriend's, from another angle there's just her bike parked outside. Since her bike was SORN whilst repairing it, that was the only time it was outside on it's own.
More mildly amusing rather than strange or intrusive...
