Building a mx5 rally car and have a cage fitted just wondering how i would ever get a soft or hard top over it.

Is there any sort of cover to keep the wet out when its pissing it down?

The cage isnt a style bar or half roll cage its a full fia approved roll cage.

Looks to me like you'll need a one-off soft top making by a specialist.

It is difficult to be precise from a photograph but hazarding a guess I would say that there is not enough clearance to fit a atandard hardtop or softtop.

Certainly worth trying though as any other solution required will be elusive.

Looks like the sort of full roll cage the racing teams would use. If that is the case may be worth asking the teams themselves(BRSCC, etc) or contacting the roll cage manufacturer for their thoughts.

Hi Coopers,

I came across a great old guy recently in Lymm, Cheshire, very near Lymm services motorway junction. He's an old fashioned car trimmer and seems able to make just about anything that's cloth and car related. I think he goes by the name of "Cheshire Coach Trimmers"  Peter's number is 01925753767 opening hours 9ish til 5.30ish. Could be worth a try?

Cheers!

Russ

Mazda fitted a cover over the cage fitted to the M2-1028 special edition; a standard hood frame would not clear this.
