Hi everyone,

I'm located in Málaga, the south of Spain and own a '00 SE NB 1.8 nicknamed "Beyonce".I bought it for one purpose only, as an excuse to travel all over the country, go to meets, get to know other enthusiasts and discover the best roads and views. I've been documenting as much of it as possible I found this forum based on 2 stickers on the inside of the hardtop I purchased for my NB (more info on this in a separate thread).

Welcome to the forum - nice looking MX5.

Welcome mate, stunning photos and really sweet mk2 you have! Going to Spain in September Larette Domar this year as we're thinking of emigrating to Spain! Nice to see there's MX5's there! It looks like it may be a lot of hassle to register our UK MX5 in Spain though (I plan on taking both the MX5 and the Civic Aerodeck with us when we move).

Deffo got the perfect climate for roof down MX5-ing!

Most definitely, hard top's on for most of the winter though and it's always an internal fight because on on side, convertible life but on the other, I do love how the hardtop looks

As long as your MOT and Road Tax are up to date in the UK, registering your car isn't an issue. You can drive for 6 months on your UK plates as long as youi're insured, then (or at any time before) you have to swap the plates with the DGT (spanish DVLA). There's a fee plus you have to pay tax on the residual value of the car (which won't be much at all on an MX5). I've personally never been to Larette Domar, mostly traveling through the south, west and north right now, I'll get to the east eventually but I do know from the Spanish forum I go to that there's a catalonian mx5 crowd that meet up for routes every so often :)

I like the sound of that, the more meets the better, especially with the glorious weather there! Thanks for the info on registering the car there too mate
