I bought my 1999 MX5 eighteen months ago. I have just noticed that the hub caps are different to all other cars I have seen. Are there more than one pattern?

Depends which wheel you have, there were many variants.

Steel or alloy wheels? Steel wheels never had plastic hub caps from the factory.

Hi Graham

I got your email.

The current centre caps are eternal flame - not too many fitted to the MK2 but I found this

Similar centres but not sure if diameter the same as MK2 were fitted to the late MK1 cars - my 1997 has them - here are some sticker replacements.

Very unlikely to find genuine replacement centres but if available will be prohibitively expensive.

The later 'M' style like you have bought is far more common on the MK2. I replaced the TSW centre caps on my old MK2 with some of the same - probably the best and easiest/cheapest way to go. I sold what was left of my old TSW caps to pay for the new and some:-)

Sorry - I’m new to the forum and I don’t yet know how to post photos, but if you follow the links that rhino666 has put in his reply, you will see them

Contact Albonnie's Shop via Facebook Messenger, he can produce the domed centre with the design that you want to any size.

He has already made a set for a friend and has just completed a set for me with the later Mazda sign.

Charged me £15 + £1.89 postage.

Awaiting delivery in next couple of days.

NOTE: Decals arrived and were superb. Fitted to car today and they look great.
