Found this one on ebay about a year ago. No fixings and a bargain at around £70

They do come up occasionally. 'Saved search' is a good idea on ebay giving you notification of new adverts.

Cheers!

Cannot believe the old girl is going to be looking pretty and hopefully handle well too.

Try this MeisterR link first, if you have no joy I can contact them direct if you wish.

Russ, I had the original ebay cheapo ones many years ago. They were an improvement on the knackered original set that was on the Mk1 at the time.

But, they are very hard, not adjustable and you would get fed up of them before long.

Far better to spend a bit more on something that is always going to give you a smile.

MeisterR are currently developing a fast road coilover set up called 'Sportive' a good bit cheaper than their other products but with less adjusting, the good bit the ride quality is reported to be as good though.

You can tow safely up to 85% of vehicle kerbweight, that is the caravan club recommended safe towing limit for a novice, someone experienced can tow to 100% of kerbweight.

I wouldn't recommend making a towbar as they do need to be type approved as suitable for purpose.

Found this full cover on ebay a year ago. There were no fixings with it, purchased the Tenax dash nipples okay and made the door mirror fixings from plastic sheet and press studs.

None were issued and TBH, I've entered in every competition since Spring 2015 (not long, I know) but have never received a participation certificate.

Barrie

It was something that I started in 2013 and insisted on as a memento to all entrants for showing their pride n joy for the day.

WRONG

Judging does not assume a start point of 100%

The section starts with 100 points 10 points per 10 sections in Engine, Inside, Exterior. The manual states; The emphasis of scoring is based on three things;
Appearance, Condition and Cleanliness with all three being equal in all classes.

When did the competitions become Concours ?

As Mazda Mender stated Judges are not being fully trained in judging the classes.

Judges personal points of view, liking or disliking a particular part should not and never be part of the judging process.

Asking entrants to place themselves into a class when the rules are not known or either understood is unfair to all other entrants in that class.

Participation certificates were usually issued to all competitors as a memento of entering the event. Were there any at the National ?

I took on the role of competitions coordinator in 2013 and handed it back to the committee in 2015  having established, I believe, good judging criteria with the help of experienced Mx-5 specialists, Mazda Menders, CBS Autos, C&S Haynes. Until the committee realise and appreciate that the competitions are an integral and important part of a rally, things will just continue along as they are with members being disgruntled and not wishing to return to the competitions. A successful rally day is being marred by the unsuccessful running of the competitions.

We will have to wait and see.
