While the MX-5 may be all things to all men and women on the road, it certainly leaves a fair deal to be desired in terms of practicality and storage space. Many owners chose to either pack light and deny their car has limited space or simply bite the bullet and buy a luggage rack for those longer weekend jaunts. Either way, there is room (literally) for improvement.

Luckily the internet has thought of this issue as well and, in the recent trends of turning coupe’s into rendered shooting brakes we have found the best MX-5 shooting brake renders from cross the web. For those of you who are unsure about what a shooting brake is, imagine a two door coupe with the bread van style rear acting as extra storage space, take the BMW M Coupé for example.

Now we’re all up to speed, let’s take a look at some of the best MX-5 renders the internet has to offer.

Although ‘slammed’ the mk2 still makes for a handsome looking shooting brake. By how about something more modern? The ND makes a tempting proposition, while the pillarless rear design updates an old idea.

Perhaps pillarless isn’t for you? Maybe this one will light your fire – beautifully rendered by Theo Chin / Chris Doane Automotive, and looks like an affordable Ferrari FF and would probably be half the weight!

And finally we started with a NC so it is only fitting we end with one too, and might we say this one looks very lifelike indeed!

So there we go, love it or loathe it there is certainly a following for a fixed roof shooting brake MX-5, which one was your favourite? Let us know in the comments section!
