The MX-5 Owners Club Spring Rally at Goodwood Racecourse is fast approaching! This weekend the club takes to the most iconic grounds in British motoring for the event that kicks off event season. We hope that your MX-5s are ready and waiting for the event and we can’t wait to see you there.
Before you head out, though, read our roundup of what you need to know before coming to the Spring Rally!
Getting in
The gates open to members at 10:30, but be sure to arrive in plenty of time as the roads around Goodwood are likely to be full of 5s trying to get in. There are roadworks scheduled on the roads around Goodwood, which should be manned, so please drive sensibly and allow plenty of time.
Once you’ve arrived in your 5, display your club pass and you’ll be directed to the club members parking area on track. If you arrive in a 5 but aren’t a club member or don’t have your pass you will be directed to MX-5 only parking. If you won’t be coming in an MX-5 you will be directed to the other parking area.
Bring your pass and bring your MX-5.
Parading it all about
Club members who are parked on track will have the opportunity to take part in the parade lap around Goodwood Circuit. The parade will start at 2:15, and participants will need to be with their cars much before that time – more details will follow on the day. Your club pass grants you entry to the parade lap.
If you’re not involved in the parade lap, make sure you’ve found a good viewing spot around the track before then. You won’t want to miss this. Here’s what it looked like when we celebrated 20 years of the NB at Silverstone Classic last year, click here to watch.
More than the MX-5
While we hope you all enjoy the day we realise there may be some who don’t bleed for the MX-5 and are accompanying someone who does, no worries. We have a range of activities and things to see aside from a sea of 5s – from Helicopter rides to watching BMWs slide about on a skidpan there’s plenty to see. We also have a number of traders so you can do a bit of shopping on the day!
If you’re a long standing partner of a Mazda enthusiast you’ll be happy to know that Mazda UK will be there as well with their usual stunning range of cars and activities.
