Past Events

March 8th saw Our Annual Ten Pin Bowling tournament held this year at the Bicester Leisure Centre. A smaller and quieter venue. The winner was Alan Ward also being the highest scoring man and Caroline Wilson for the highest scoring lady. Congratulations to them. Everyone enjoyed the evening.

March 10th We had a visit to Ivan Dutton Limited who works on restoring Bugatti’s. It was very interesting seeing this renovation work. We saw some stripped down to the chassis and were able to study the engines. One owner wanted his sprayed the same colour as another car in his collection. We were made very welcome and could have chatted for even longer. There was not a detail about all models that he didn’t have the answer to at his fingertips. Many thanks to Ellie and Derek for not only discovering this chap but arranging the drive to it beforehand as well.

March 18th Ellie again arranged for us to have lunch at Haddenham Garden Centre. Food very good as before. Then a run to Waddesdon to see the daffodils. The walk round the garden was not too crowded but also probably due to the weather being rather cold. It was good we had so many cars turn up. Thanks again to Ellie and Derek.

April 15th. Fives go crabbing in Mudeford! After a warming cup of coffee lines were cast and fishing began. Those not taking part went for a quick ramble. Dave Wiseall caught the most crabs with Simon, Alan and the other Dave getting some too.

Ellie found out from the café staff that the record caught was 250 so perhaps we didn’t do so well. A bit of harmless fun. When it started to rain food became a priority so we decamped to the nearest Toby pub for lunch. They luckily managed to squeeze all 11 of us in with a couple of cars going elsewhere. Thanks to all for a great turnout on a miserable day weather-wise.

April 29th. Spring Rally at Goodwood. Once again a superb setting but what a pity the weather was so cold. Everybody appeared to enjoy the day regardless. Jenny, Dave, Ellie and Derek braved handling the registration desk between them. I hope everyone who wanted a plaque received one as not every new member knew they were available. The parade lap round the track was very slow but at least we can say we did it. Also we discovered one of our members had a new RF on show.
