Organising their first event, Sandra and Kevin took a group on a lovely scenic drive to the Rural Life Centre. The weather was perfect, especially for driving with the top down. There were a lot of very narrow winding roads with groups of cyclists along the way but the group managed to stay together.
The Rural Life Centre had many interesting exhibits and displays and Richard even found that there were a lot of memories
scattered around the place, some of which he had not thought about for six decades, including the picture in the old cricket pavilion; his Dad knew some of the MCC team visiting Africa in the mid 1950s when Richard was introduced to his hero Jim Laker.
They is also an old classroom, a prefab house, little church, a mill and a row of old shop fronts amongst other things. The visit was rounded off with a visit to the cafe for lunch.
