Gabrielle & Tony Rowston and Simon Peck
Our regular meetings and events in the Lincolnshire Area cater for all interests and age groups. Our members’ cars range from the earliest Mk 1 to the latest editions, some unmodified and some very much ‘tweaked’. If you are an MX-5 enthusiast and live in Lincolnshire and you want to meet people with likeminded interests, we are sure you will enjoy the benefits of joining our group.
The MX-5 is considered by many motoring journalists to be one of the best handling cars in the world regardless of price and the best way of enjoying such excellence is to get onto some interesting roads and just drive! In our area we are fortunate enough to have some of the quietest roads in the country, ideal for exploiting the handling qualities of our little cars.
The main focus from March to October is to do just that and we try to have at least one Sunday drive each month with picnic or pub lunch. During the winter months we have regular Sunday pub lunches across the area. We usually travel as a group to the National Rallies and larger club events and, depending on the distance, probably stay over for a couple days. We also occasionally arrange various weekends away and even holidays in the UK and in Europe are being considered. Please come and join us at any of these events – you will be made most welcome.
In addition to the regular Sunday drives, throughout the year we also have a regular club social night held at The Woodcocks Inn, Saxilby Rd, Burton Waters, Lincoln LN1 2BE, UK on the last Wednesday of the month from 19:30 onward. (Except December). Come along, enjoy a drink, a meal and generally meet up with friends for an informal evening.
Details of these and other events can be found in our Lincolnshire diary (future events) pages.
Perfect weather for the seals and over 1000 pups born already. Lovely day out and a exceptional Sunday lunch to finish.
Daffodil drive We were very lucky again this year to have a dry day for this now annual event. Being the first drive of the year it’s always very popular and 33 cars appeared in the Tesco car park creating quite a spectacle for the early shoppers. Attempting to keep all 33 cars together […]
Our happy band of MX-5s set off and headed through country lanes skirting the rivers Trent, Humber and Ouse passing the well known RSPB reserve at Blacktoft sands on the way. One thing about planning impromptu drives is that it is possible to choose your day when the weather is looking fair. Luckily the day […]
Sunday lunch was held at the Lord Nelson, Winthorpe. 15 members came along. We were seated all together and had a lovely meal and enjoyed each other’s company. Two of the members joined us for their first event with the club. Everyone made them welcome and we look forward to seeing them at future events. […]
