Run Info
The 85 mile route skirts Congleton and Leek, then takes in the open moorland roads around Warslow before the first coffee stop, The Tea Junction, next to the Manifold Visitor Centre at Hulme End. The cakes are very good! In case there is a big turnout it might be a good idea to bring folding chairs. https://www.teajunctionhulmeend.co.uk/ (SK17 0EX)
The second leg heads into Derbyshire (passing a public loo at Alstonfield!), and onto the exhilarating “Rowsley Triangle” before a stop at Caudwell Crafts and Café. There is a working flour mill, exquisite glass making, a gift shop and a smithy making wrought iron, plus the excellent café, and an attractive riverside setting for a bit of leg-stretching. If car park is full there is quiet on-road parking nearby. https://www.caudwellscraftsandcafe.co.uk/store/c1/Featured_Products.html (DE4 2EB)
The third leg includes a steep and twisty descent, some more high moorland, the amusing roads round Gradbach, and a convenient finish at Teggs Nose. https://www.teggsnose.co.uk/facilities/ )
Please let us know if you are likely to take part so that we can give the two cafés an idea of numbers.
