The Chairman visit
Details of the Chairmans visit to Gods own County have been in the last two editions of Soft Top Hard Top, plans are now coming together. For Peaks and Pennines members there are quite a few options.
Saturday
After an 8:30 start from The Dearne Valley Farm, meeting up at Stableside for a cuppa and a comfort stop. Peaks and Pennines have been invited to organise the Saturday run, officially we are going to go to see the Daffys in Farndale via Sutton Bank.
The convoy will assemble at 10:00 and leave Stableside at 10:30
Those who have been to this area before will know that this is just a cover for going to see Rachael Landlady of The Feversham Arms Inn to sample her over generous portions of bar food and excellent hand pulled beers !
‘For all those regular diners. Due to customer feedback we are reducing the size of the portions of chips served with meals. However if you would like extra chips during your meal please do ask and we will happily provide these free of charge.’
The return journey will take us up the Rosedale Chimney, once back in York the choices are, head for home or stay over (pre booking required) and join us on the Sunday run
Members who cannot join us during the day could come over and join us in the evening ready for the Sunday run which will be organised by the Yorkshire Ridings area.
During the early evening the dining room at Stableside will be open for members to bring takeaways into, or there are two pubs within walking distance.
Non taxing games and a quiz are being organised by our hosts.
Sunday
The run is to Whitby over The North York Moors, as on Saturday there are two meeting points, Ferry Bridge Services and The Stockyard and Tea and Coffee will be available before the main part of the run leaves Stableside at 10:30
Yorkshire Ridings are organising the route to Whitby, the suggestion is that the convoy will park up at the Park and Ride on the outskirts of the Town and catch the bus in.
Our visitors are keen to sample Whitby’s best Fish and Chips by the pier.
Ted and members of the Northampton Area are staying over on Sunday night and driving to Mr Woos Icecream Parlour, P&P members are invited to stay for a second night and join this run
