We will be meeting early at one of our favourite starting points, Poplars Garden Centre, nr Toddington. Just off J12 of the M1.

We’ll embark on a short run (approx 40miles), taking between 1 to 1.5hrs.  The route will lead us via A and B roads through the beautiful Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire country side towards our  destination, the famous de Havilland Aircraft Museum.

This is a purely voluntary museum, so discount tickets aren’t available. The ticket price is shown above, although concessions are available. However, this is a special visit as we have arranged an exclusive chance to park in front of the hanger containing the iconic Mosquito Aircraft for a Group photo.  Our group will then be able to enjoy the entire museum collection at their leisure.  With the opportunity to eat together in their small cafeteria.

The Museum is located next to Salisbury Hall in the Hertfordshire countryside just off J22 of the M25.

The de Havilland Aircraft Museum is the only Museum in the world to have 3 de Havilland Mosquitos on display where the prototype was originally designed and built.

There are two huge hangars (the Walter Goldsmith Hangar and the Geoffrey de Havilland Hangar) with most of the collection undercover protecting you and the artefacts from the weather.

There is a third hangar (the Amy Johnson Hangar) where you can view the volunteer restoration teams at work.

There is also an outdoor grass aircraft park with eight other aircraft, some of which they try to make available to visitors when the ground is dry and firm.

There is a small cafe serving hot drinks, sandwiches, pastries & cakes with outdoor picnic tables and a lovely shop stocked with models, diecasts, books, clothing and branded merchandise.
