Dave and Lynda Norton have arranged a scenic and an extremely attractive drive through what is undoubtedly one of our group’s favourite and most cherished areas.
We meet at Carnforth Truck Stop (Scotland Road, Warton , Carnforth LA5 9RQ) on Sunday 21st July at 10:00 for a 10:30 departure.
We travel through Whittington, Barbon and Dent before arriving for a coffee break at Wensleydale Creamery at Hawes (DL8 3RN) where you will find a delightful cafe and well-stocked shop together with a substantial cheese selection area where you can sample a large array of delicious on-site produced cheese.
On leaving Hawes we head for Settle for lunch via Kettlewell, Arncliffe, Litton and Stainforth. We will aim to park at the Greenfoot car park (BD24 9RW). A walk around the town is always a pleasant experience, weather permitting of course! A number of eateries are available for you to enjoy lunch.
The final leg takes us through the Forest of Bowland via Bentham to Caton where we say our farewells at the Station Hotel (LA2 9QS). Junction 34 of the M6 is only 4 miles away.
