South Central Run to the Bluebell Railway

This will be an approx. 90 mile run through Surrey and Sussex finishing at the Bluebell Railway (Sheffield Park, Uckfield) where you can visit the heritage station and museum. Unfortunately, the loco shed is closed until June while they complete a new exhibition facility. Depending on what time we get there you can also take a ride on the train up to East Grinstead (1hr 45 min return, departing Sheffield Park 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm). After visiting the railway (or if you don’t fancy steam trains), you can take a short drive (approx. 1 mile) up the road to the National Trust’s Sheffield Park Garden, a beautifully landscaped garden and parkland with lakes and walking trails. Entrance fee for the garden is £11.90 or £13.50 if you Gift Aid.

Dogs are welcome at both locations although only after 1.30pm at Sheffield Park Garden. If you go on the train it will cost £2 per dog but they get their name printed on the ticket as a souvenir!

Date: Saturday April 7th

Time: 8:45am for 9:30am start

Meeting Point: Ockham Common Car Park, Old Lane, off southbound A3 (immediately south of M25 June 10)

If you are interested in joining the run please respond to the posting on the OC Forum or email Pete George at peter.george2@ntlworld.com.
