We will be leading a run out to Bakewell on Sunday 6th August 2017.
We will be starting from the Six Halts, Derby Road, Clay Cross, S45 9AG.
The nearest M1 exit is J29. This is a Generous George pub, which is owned by Marstons. The following breakfast options will be available:
Bacon, sausage or egg butty priced at £3.95 plus tea or instant coffee for £1.
Additionally they have 2 full breakfast options priced at £6.49 or £8.49, depending on how hungry you are. Please confirm which of these you’d prefer. The actual start time
will be confirmed/changed later as we still need to complete a ‘timing mission’ of the route.
On leaving the Six Halts we’ll be using some great driving roads to get to our toilet & coffee stop:
The Knockerdown Inn, near Carsington Water, DE6 1NQ.
We’ll have coffee/tea here and they will have a selection of snacks (crisps, KitKats etc) but
NO CAKE (!!!). We’ll need to leave here by 11:45 am as they’ll be preparing to open for their lunch time customers.
Our ultimate destination will be the market town of Bakewell, where we’re booked into the
fish restaurant at 5 Water St, DE45 1EW. They close to the public at 3:00 and will reopen for us (once they’ve cleaned up etc) by approx 3:15.
The restaurant has capacity for 40, so for that reason, plus the fact that this is the first run we’ll have led, we need to limit numbers to 40 people.
Hope to see as many of you there as possible!
